We are proud to announce the addition of Dr. Hilda Dale Dunavant to La Crosse Animal Hospital. Dr. Dunavant grew up in Kenbridge, Va. Where she spent the majority of her childhood with her father, Dr. R.C. Dunavant, and mother, Jane Dunavant, at their family veterinary hospital, Lunenburg Animal Hospital; the same hospital Dr. Edens began her veterinary career. Growing up, Dale was extremely involved with the family business and horseback riding ; she extensively competed in the showring riding hunter jumpers both locally and out of state. She also assisted her father with Standardbred harness racing along the eastern coast. Given her inherited love for all animals, the decision to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue her veterinary degree was an easy decision. Dale received her undergraduate Animal Science degree from Virginia Tech. During this time, dale was an ambassador for the Animal Science department at Virginia Tech and continued her love of riding by competing during her summer months off. Dale was accepted to Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts. After finishing her didactic years of veterinary school, she did her clinical year at North Carolina State University. Dale currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, Jason, and extensive pack of animals which include Fenrir, a Belgian Malinois, Jasmine, a white German Shepard, and her three cats, Prissy, Drax and Stache. Dale still continues to ride her horses at her family’s farm in Kenbridge. She is very excited to start her new journey at la Crosse Animal Hospital and is looking forward to providing the highest quality of care to your pets, so they can live a long and healthy life. Please help us welcome Dr. Hilda Dale Dunavant to our family!
